SOX Consultant
Kforce has a client that is seeking a SOX Consultant in Hunt Valley, MD. Key Responsibilities:
- SOX Compliance & Testing: Execute test plans to evaluate the operating effectiveness of key financial controls and Information Technology General Controls (ITGCs)
- Risk & Control Assessment: Perform annual risk assessments to define the scope of SOX compliance, identifying potential fraud or error risks in financial reporting
- Documentation & Walkthroughs: Document business processes, narratives, and risk control matrices (RCMs), and conduct walkthroughs with process owners
- Remediation & Improvement: Identify control deficiencies, recommend improvements, and oversee remediation efforts to ensure long-term, sustainable solutions
- Stakeholder Management: Coordinate with internal audit, external auditors, and senior management to ensure efficient audit processes and reporting
- Special Projects: Support M&A-related SOX readiness, system data migration controls, and general compliance initiatives
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
- 5-7 years relevant experience
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future. We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave. Note: Pay is not considered compensation until it is earned, vested and determinable.
