Extrusion Operator

The Healthcare Industries Material Site (HIMS) DuPont's plant in Hemlock, MI has an exciting opportunity for Extrusion Operators.

Job Details:
These positions have a minimum starting hourly rate of $21.00-$27.00 per hour with potential career progression.
Potential for overtime opportunities.
Eligible for an additional $1.00 per hour if assigned to a role that covers midnight shifts or $2.00 per hour if assigned to a role that covers afternoon shifts.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Operating process related equipment and plant process control systems in a safe, environmentally responsible manner.
Optimizing plant performance by monitoring process equipment and conditions using information systems including: temperatures, pressures, and flow rates.
Collecting and reporting plant measurements related to performance, asset utilization, quality, costs, yield, environmental health and safety, production rates, etc.
Adjusting control systems and manually operated equipment based on process and lab data.
Determining root causes of deviations in process, product, or equipment performance through use of troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis.
Identifying opportunities for improvement and implement improvements when appropriate.
Performing daily tasks efficiently using the appropriate computer tools and software.
In addition, successful candidate must meet the following physical qualifications, with or without accommodation:
Be willing and able to work all applicable shifts including weekends and holidays and work overtime when needed.
Be able to pass a functional physical testing and be able to use standard safety equipment.
Be able to lift 50 lbs, lift hoses, bolt flanges, and operate valves and similar equipment routinely.
Communicate effectively across a diverse work group.
Follow procedures and practices to ensure a safe and efficient operation.
Perceive, identify, and respond to plant and site alarms.
Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
Standing for considerable amounts of time.
Climbing of stairs and ladders occasionally.
Education & Experience:
Required:
A minimum of a High School diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent.
Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Word and Excel.
Must have a current, valid, US driver’s license.
Preferred:
Possess one or more of the following:
4+ years military experience OR/AND 4+ years manufacturing experience.
