Experienced Ocean Product Development Specialist – International Freight Forwarding

Job Summary:

As an Ocean Product Development Specialist at arenaflex, you'll play a critical role in supporting the growth of ocean volumes and enhancing the development of our ocean product. You'll work closely with our MD of Ocean, carrier development teams, and other stakeholders to implement strategies that increase volumes, maximize competitiveness, and enhance service quality. Your expertise will be essential in analyzing carrier service, routings, carrier performance, and supporting carrier service issues. You'll also serve as an ocean subject matter expert, providing guidance and support to sales and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities:

* Execute strategies to support the growth of ocean volumes and enhance the development of the ocean product

  • Work closely with the MD of Ocean to develop and implement pricing programs, review volume targets, and analyze carrier service
  • Collaborate with the TLM to develop an ocean strategy that enhances the effectiveness of sales and achieves expectations of account development and yield enhancement
  • Communicate strategies, market conditions, and direction to internal and external stakeholders, including the global trade lane team, sales, and operations
  • Conduct regular service reviews to ensure agreed-upon KPIs are being met or exceeded
  • Assist in gathering, analyzing, and reporting information regarding performance and competitive activity
  • Submit reports as required and work with the MD of Ocean and regional ocean management team to promote the ocean product
  • Support sales and operations as needed and manage annual budget to achieve budget targets
  • Work closely with marketing to develop external and internal communications specific to the ocean product

Essential Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • At least 8 years of experience in the international freight forwarding industry, including direct ocean experience
  • Prior ocean carrier experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office apps
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Business-oriented and remarkable business acumen
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience in working with ocean contracts, negotiating ocean rates, quoting ocean rates, and analyzing ocean rates and routing

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects

Skills and Competencies:

* Strong understanding of the international freight forwarding industry and ocean product development

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to analyze complex data and develop effective strategies
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office apps and ability to learn new software and systems quickly

Compensation and Perks:

As a Colorado resident, you'll be eligible for an annual salary ranging from $57,836.00 to $131,686.00, depending on your experience and qualifications. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
