LOCATION This is a full-time Direct Contractor position, and the role is remote-candidates may be located in any LATAM country. JOB SUMMARY The Senior AI Engineer is responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of artificial intelligence initiatives focused on Backoffice functions. This role drives automation, process optimization, and intelligent decision support across internal business areas by leveraging AI technologies and integrations with existing enterprise systems. The position works closely with IT, Finance, HR, Operations, and other corporate teams to identify opportunities where AI can improve efficiency, scalability, and operational performance. WHAT YOU WILL DO Backoffice AI Enablement

  • Design and implement AI-driven solutions to optimize Backoffice processes.
  • Identify, prioritize, and execute AI and automation use cases with business impact.

AI Development & Automation

  • Develop, deploy, and maintain AI models, intelligent workflows, and automation solutions.
  • Integrate AI solutions with enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, ITSM, data platforms).

Systems Integration & Data

  • Work with structured and unstructured data sources to enable AI-driven insights.

Governance, Security & Compliance

  • Ensure AI solutions comply with security, privacy, and governance standards.

Collaboration & Enablement

  • Partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Support adoption through documentation and best practices.

WHAT WE REQUIRE

  • 5+ years of experience in AI/ML, data-driven automation, intelligent systems, or software engineering (e.g., AI Engineer, ML Engineer, Data Scientist with production experience) with at least 3+ years of experience focused on AI development and automation.
  • Experience using GitHub for source control, collaboration, versioning, and review of AI and automation code, following established development and security practices.
  • Hands-on experience with AI technologies including LLMs, prompt engineering, natural language processing, document intelligence, and automation tools.
  • Experience integrating AI solutions with enterprise systems.
  • Solid understanding of Middlewares, REST APIs, webhooks, and event-driven integrations.
  • Experience designing and implementing data pipelines and preparing data for AI use.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP) and managed AI/ML services.
  • Experience with version control, CI/CD, and basic MLOps practices.
  • Ability to translate business/backoffice problems into technical AI solutions and measurable outcomes.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Strong ability to understand business processes and collaborate with non-technical stakeholders to identify and refine AI opportunities.
  • Clear, structured communicator who can explain complex technical concepts in simple terms for decision makers.
  • Proactive, ownership-driven mindset: comfortable taking a problem from idea to proof of concept to production.
  • Strong collaboration skills; able to work closely with IT, security, data, and engineering teams.
  • Curiosity and continuous learning attitude towards new AI technologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Ability to work as a direct contractor.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field of study, or equivalent experience.
  • AI related certifications are a plus.
