BIM Lead - Electrical

We are currently seeking a talented BIM Lead with a strong background to join our dynamic team and contribute to our ongoing success. Job Summary: As a Lead at BIMTM, you’ll oversee project execution from a modeling and coordination standpoint within your discipline, ensuring model accuracy, resolving complex coordination issues, and managing clients communication. You will lead project teams and own technical delivery, including clash management, submittal review, issue resolution, and schedule alignment. This role serves as the bridge between our internal team and external partners, ensuring seamless collaboration and continuous improvement. Responsibilities: Model Oversight & Coordination:

  • Lead population of BIM models, including routing strategies, pinch points, and proactive coordination.
  • Perform quality control on initial population and final coordination models.
  • Manage internal clash detection and direct conflict resolution strategies.
  • Coordinate with client, GC, and trade partners to resolve major issues.
  • Review and incorporate approved equipment submittals.
  • Serve as the primary discipline lead on all coordination tasks.

Detailing & Documentation:

  • Define and manage detailing expectations for install and prefab drawing sets.
  • Oversee creation of sheets and views, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
  • Perform quality assurance on all construction documentation deliverables.

Client Communication & Project Management:

  • Lead external coordination meetings with clients, GCs, and trade partners.
  • Manage project scope, change orders, and contract updates with the PM.
  • Coordinate construction and BIM schedule alignment with external teams.
  • Oversee drawing approvals, issue logs, submittal logs, and RFIs.
  • Ensure all QC processes are maintained and that deliverables meet expectations.

Team Leadership & Internal Development:

  • Train and mentor Specialists and Technicians on system workflows, software, and best practices.
  • Lead internal continuous improvement initiatives and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in your discipline on complex or challenging projects.
  • Identify and resolve pain points in internal workflows.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management) preferred; Associate degree required.
  • 5+ years of experience in BIM/VDC coordination for large-scale commercial construction.
  • Demonstrated leadership of MEP coordination efforts from preconstruction to fabrication and install.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, and Autodesk Construction Cloud/BIM360.
  • Strong knowledge of construction documents, submittals, RFIs, and MEP systems.
  • Excellent communication and client management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, schedule management, and detail orientation.
  • Experience leading teams and mentoring junior staff in a remote or hybrid environment.
  • Bonus: Evolve MEP experience, experience with laser scanning or total stations.
