Job Responsibilities
As a Senior Data Scientist, you will be responsible for:
- Providing numerical modeling and analysis services to support business decision-making and strategic planning
- Participating in project teams to develop and implement data-driven solutions to complex business problems
- Identifying, investigating, and resolving large-scale complex issues using big data and analytics
- Developing and implementing metrics, estimating, and AI-based solutions to drive business outcomes
- Building and maintaining data models, metrics, and AI-based applications, and providing client support
- Participating in model development, model deployment, and model maintenance for multiple projects
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize business needs and develop data-driven solutions
- Communicating complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders and presenting results to senior leadership
- Staying up-to-date with the latest research and advancements in data science, machine learning, and analytics
Essential Qualifications
* Postgraduate education (PhD or ABD) in a quantitative field, such as statistics, mathematics, or computer science
- Strong background in quantitative analysis and the use of advanced statistical methods
- Coursework or work experience with data modeling and machine learning techniques
- Familiarity with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, R, Python, or Julia
- Excellent business, technical, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing business needs
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues
- Experience with data visualization tools and techniques
Preferred Qualifications
* Minor in computer science and formal high-level software engineering coursework
- 2+ years of professional experience in a data science or analytics role
- 1+ year of experience in the airline industry or a related field
- 1+ year of experience in planning and programming/coding information structures for large-scale computer models
- Experience with Julia programming language
- Familiarity with arenaflex/industry data sources
- Organized programming for large-scale computer models
- Proven ability to create business value
