Responsibilities:

As a Healthcare Customer Service Representative, you will be responsible for:

  • Fielding customer inquiries related to healthcare services, utilizing your knowledge of medical terminology and industry trends to provide informed responses.
  • Handling inbound calls from medical professionals, verifying benefits, and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Providing excellent customer service through active listening, empathy, and a solutions-focused approach.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive customer information with care and discretion.
  • Resolving issues on the first call by being proactive and taking ownership of customer concerns.
  • Communicating effectively with customers, using clear and concise language to ensure understanding.
  • Providing support for Health Care Providers, including researching benefit information and responding to requests for assistance.
  • Accurately documenting and maintaining all interactions, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Responding to requests for assistance and/or possible processing payments, demonstrating a commitment to customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess:

  • 6 months of customer service experience, with a proven track record of delivering exceptional service and resolving complex issues.
  • The ability to work remotely in a virtual team environment, with a strong sense of self-motivation and discipline.
  • Over 18 years of age, with a high school graduate or GED equivalent.
  • Proficiency in typing, with a minimum speed of 25 words per minute.
  • Comfort with desktop computer systems, including Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Proven oral and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Logical problem-solving skills, with a focus on finding creative solutions to complex issues.
  • Organization and work prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Nice-to-Haves:

While not required, the following skills and qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Experience working in the healthcare industry, with a strong understanding of medical terminology and industry trends.
  • Certification in customer service or a related field, such as Certified Customer Service Representative (CCSR) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).
  • Proficiency in multiple software applications, including CRM systems and data management tools.
  • Experience working in a virtual team environment, with a strong sense of collaboration and communication.
