Job Summary

As a Customer Service/Sales representative at arenaflex, you'll be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, learning about our products, and selling entire projects to meet customer needs. You'll work closely with your Department Supervisor and other associates in your department, as well as other departments, to ensure a safe and shop-able environment for our customers. Your primary goal will be to build strong relationships with customers, understand their needs, and provide solutions that meet their expectations.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide fast, friendly service to customers, actively seeking out opportunities to assess their needs and provide assistance

  • Learn about products using our tools and provide information to customers to sell entire projects
  • Greet, qualify, recommend, and close every customer in your department, and know how to handle basics in adjacent departments
  • Maintain the in-stock condition of assigned areas, ensuring they are clean, shop-able, and safe
  • Provide a safe working and shopping environment by following all safety policies & standards, completing specified safety training, and reporting hazards or unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty
  • Work in cooperation with your Department Supervisor and other associates in your department, as well as other departments
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance your skills and knowledge
  • Meet or exceed sales and customer service targets, as well as other performance metrics

Essential Qualifications

* High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred

  • 1-2 years of customer service or sales experience, preferably in a retail or sales environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and colleagues
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Basic math skills and accuracy with handling cash and operating a point-of-sale system
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods of time

Preferred Qualifications

* Previous experience in a sales or customer service role, preferably in a retail or sales environment

  • Knowledge of building materials, tools, or other products related to our business
  • Experience with sales software or other technology platforms
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers from diverse backgrounds
  • Certification in customer service or sales, such as the Certified Customer Service Representative (CCSR) or the Certified Sales Professional (CSP)
