Job Summary

As a Data Entry Clerk – Branch Underwriting Support Specialist, you'll play a critical role in our underwriting process. You'll be responsible for preliminary review of all lines of commercial business, verifying that business is issued in accordance with established underwriting guidelines. You'll also provide assistance to our Underwriters, submit referral risks, and perform various administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities

* Preliminary review and limited approval of new business, renewals, inspections, mail, and follow-up for all lines of business

• Provide rating assistance and underwriting support for our Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Massachusetts agents
• Work closely with several Underwriters to assist with the underwriting functions for a block of agents
• Quote and issue new business and process endorsements
• Perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Requirements

* High school education or its equivalent

• Proficiency in commercial lines such as BOP, Auto, Contractors, Garage, and Dealers
• Experience working with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

* 1-2 years of experience in a data entry or underwriting role

• Knowledge of insurance industry practices and regulations
• Experience working with insurance software and systems
• Certification in a related field (e.g., CPCU, CIC)
