Systems Administrator III - Deploy Only

About the position Do you have an eye for detail and a passion for developing innovation solutions? Join our team! As a Systems Administrator III, you will oversee the administration of complex systems, ensuring their robustness and reliability within the Aerospace and Defense sector. You will lead the development and implementation of system enhancements, manage security protocols, and provide expert-level troubleshooting. This role involves close collaboration with various IT teams to support mission-critical systems and business operations. The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains – air, land, sea, space and cyber.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of advanced system configurations.
  • Manage and optimize system performance, addressing complex issues.
  • Implement and enforce comprehensive security measures.
  • Provide expert-level troubleshooting and issue resolution.
  • Maintain and update detailed system documentation.
  • Coordinate and manage system upgrades and modifications.
  • Conduct in-depth system tests to ensure functionality and compliance.
  • Oversee data handling, conversion, and storage solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an information technology related field. 5+ years of experience in a related field. Relevant experience can be considered as a substitute for the required educational qualifications. In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 9 years of related experience is required. Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux).
  • Advanced understanding of network and system security protocols.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with others.
  • Demonstrate a customer care philosophy that ensures a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Proven organizational skills with an attention to detail.
  • A current active Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance with SCI eligibility is required
  • Ability to deploy for an extended amount of time to various OCONUS operating locations.
  • Ability to meet current DoD and Combatant Command requirements for deployed locations.
  • Successfully pass a pre-deployment medical assessment.
  • Must be willing and able to work extended hours, holidays, and shift schedules as required.
  • Current/ valid passport and be able to obtain a visa to travel internationally.
  • Willing to deploy OCONUS on an approximate 60/60 rotation.
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment. Non-U.S. Citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent certification.
  • Proficiency with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Advanced scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
  • Experience with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • 2-5 years' experience implementing and supporting AWS and Azure Operations.
  • 2-5 years' experience implementing and supporting VMware (VRealize, VRealize Operations, VRealize Automation).
  • 2-5 years' Experience with IT Operations Monitoring Tools (PRTG, VROperations, Solarwinds).
  • Ability to troubleshoot network connectivity between Server Infrastructure.
  • Certifications: AWS Cloud Foundations. Azure Fundamentals. One of the following: AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate. AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate. AWS Certified Developer – Associate. Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate.
