May consult with end users regarding IT security issues, identifies IT security violations, conducts IT risk assessments, demonstrates threat modeling and supports IT forensic analyses, documents security policies, and monitors network file use.Primary Responsibilities:- Participates in activities focused on ensuring the safety and preventing the destruction of and unauthorized access to organization information systems.
- May consult with users to discuss issues such as computer data access needs, security violations, and programming changes.
- Participates in training users on IT security awareness issues in an effort to ensure system security and improve server and network efficiency.
- Identifies violations of computer security procedures in an assigned area and assists in educating violators to ensure infractions are not repeated.
- Participates in risk assessments and tests the functionality and security of data processing systems.
- May conduct threat modeling exercises.
- Supports forensic analyses of digital information specific to the operations of an assigned system or area and compiles evidence of security issues requiring higher-level review and analysis.
- Documents computer security and emergency measures policies, procedures, and tests.
- Participates in monitoring the use of network data files, taking applicable action when necessary.
- Focused on enabling the business to achieve its goals in a safe and secure environment.
- Utilize the Predict, Prevent, Detect and Respond framework to deliver the security strategy.
- Utilizing threat intelligence, table top exercises, information gathered from Red team activities, 3rd party assessments and simulated phishing the team works to develop more secure architectures and solutions in the tools provided to our end users.
- Design solutions to prevent malicious emails from entering environment and preventing external attacks against the network.
- Where prevention isn’t possible, solutions are implemented to gather information, correlate the data and generate alerts.
- Whether external or insider threat, the teams review and investigate to ensure the environment and our data is secure.
- To ensure proper governance and comply with laws & regulations, utilize data gathered to validate policies, processes and standards and implement improvements.
- Educate employees of the threats and the steps to take if they suspect something suspicious.
- Bachelor’s degree and less than 2 years prior relevant experience OR
- In absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required
