Job Description

We are seeking a talented and motivated Remote Integration Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining robust integrations between Atlassian products, third-party applications, and our customers' complex enterprise systems. You will work remotely from Austin, Texas, collaborating closely with product development teams, solution architects, and technical support to ensure seamless data flow and functionality across diverse platforms. Your expertise will bridge gaps between disparate systems, enhancing operational efficiency and enabling our customers to unlock the full potential of their Atlassian ecosystem. This position requires a deep understanding of APIs, data structures, and various integration patterns, coupled with a problem-solving mindset and excellent communication skills. You will be responsible for translating complex business requirements into technical specifications, implementing scalable integration solutions, and providing expert technical guidance. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement secure and scalable integration solutions using REST APIs, webhooks, and other integration technologies.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and customers to gather requirements and define technical specifications for integration projects.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration issues, ensuring high availability and performance of connected systems.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all integration processes, configurations, and architectural designs.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of our integration frameworks and best practices.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to internal teams and external customers regarding integration capabilities and limitations.
  • Stay current with emerging integration technologies, industry standards, and security best practices.

Required Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in software development or integration engineering roles.
  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript, Go).
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, webhooks, JSON, and XML.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and serverless architectures.
  • Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket) and their APIs.
  • Familiarity with iPaaS platforms (e.g., Mulesoft, Workato, Zapier).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Bitbucket Pipelines, GitLab CI).
  • Knowledge of database systems and SQL.
