Software iOS Engineer

PayPal is a global leader in digital payments, and they are seeking an accomplished iOS Mobile Engineer to join their team. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle to design and develop mobile applications, ensuring high performance and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Implements tasks within the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), receiving structure and oversight from more experienced staff
  • Follows well-established internal conventions and standard procedures
  • Understands internal standards & processes and applies them to make technical decisions
  • Collaborates with peers, manager, and project lead to gain understanding of tasks and review solutions
  • May contribute to code & design reviews
  • Design and develop mobile application, mobile SDK and frameworks/common libraries
  • Utilize skills in native mobile development to build great mobile applications
  • Participate in architecture and design discussions, code reviews, and project related team activities
  • Work with other engineers, architects, product management, QA and operations teams to develop innovative solutions
  • Understand and meet business needs with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, reliability, and adherence to development principles and product goal
  • Develop functional test automation
  • Develop mobile application prototypes
  • Iterate with our UX team in an Agile environment to bring features from conception to launch

Skills

  • 1+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience, or a Master's degree with at least 1 year of relevant experience
  • At least 1 year of hands-on iOS development experience
  • Strong understanding of multithreaded and asynchronous programming concepts
  • Proven experience integrating RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs
  • Experience designing and developing iOS applications using Swift and SwiftUI
  • Solid understanding of iOS architectural patterns, including MVVM or MVI
  • A team player who values collaboration, innovation, and inclusion
  • Interested in keeping up-to-date with the latest technological developments
  • Comfortable working in an Agile environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Interest in the payments industry
