Intertek, a leading provider of ATIC (Assurance, Testing, Inspection, and Certification) Services, is looking for a Electrical Inspector - Field Evaluations to join our Electrical team.
Ideal candidates will be based in a 250 mile radius of Plano, TX
Job Summary
The Electrical Inspector will be responsible for performing field evaluations on energized electrical products at jobs sites to ensure compliance with applicable standards and codes, issuing reports, and communicating with clients.
Scope of Work
- Document manufacturer's production and quality processes; review required production tests, including methods, equipment used and calibration of equipment.
- Inspect ETL Listed products, subassemblies and components with respect to the Certification Documents; review ETL label inventory and control; review non-compliances issued as a result of previous inspections and document unresolved issues; select samples as directed.
- Documenting corrective actions to products, including photographing non-compliances
- Issuing reports summarizing the results of the inspections to clients and AHJ's
- Communicating with clients and AHJ's
- Compile test results during construction review and testing. Compile data and product description and type final report using established report shell. Submit report to reviewer for final approval.
- Communicate project status and test results to client, sales personnel, and management throughout testing. Provide on-going support to clients as needed.
- Within policy guidelines, identify, properly document, and recommend engineering judgments.
- Perform other work as required
- HS Diploma/GED
- 5+ years of direct experience
- Associates Degree in technical field or equivalent in terms of education and experience
- 2+ years of experience
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical preferred)
- 0+ years Experience in electronic/electrical testing or quality/reliability testing, engineering, electrical inspection, manufacturing or quality control
- Familiarity with the National Electric Code and/or product compliance requirements to nationally recognized safety standards
- Demonstrated experience with U.S., Canadian product safety standards, i.e., ANSI, CSA, UL,
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to make technical decisions and engineering judgments independently within established parameters
- Ability to travel 75%
- Valid Drivers license with an acceptable driving record
