Solutions Attorney, Special Projects

Remote · USA Full-time New today

Location We are hiring for this role to be based in the United States or Canada. This is a remote role unless you fall within the following parameters. If you live within approximately 50 miles of our San Mateo, CA or Provo, UT office, the position follows a hybrid schedule with in-office days on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. About The Role At GC AI, we're redefining how legal teams work with the power of AI. As a Solutions Attorney (Special Projects), you'll be at the forefront of this transformation — blending your legal expertise with cutting-edge AI to help customers unlock entirely new ways of working with commercial contracts and complex legal workflows. In this role, you'll draft powerful AI prompts for contract negotiation and analysis, partner directly with customers to solve their most pressing commercial workflow challenges, and provide expert technical guidance that helps lawyers maximize AI effectiveness in their practice. Your impact will be direct and measurable: driving adoption, shaping product direction, and delivering sophisticated solutions that transform how our users approach contract work. This is a unique opportunity to help define the role of AI in commercial law, working at a fast-moving startup with clear product-market fit, a world-class team, and customers who say they can't imagine their lives without GC AI.

What You'll Do

  • Draft sophisticated AI prompts that solve complex commercial contract problems, including negotiation strategies and risk analysis, with a particular focus on playbook creation in commercial contracting in the near term. The ideal candidate will be a precision-oriented attorney who can translate complex customer playbooks into custom GC AI prompts that deliver accurate and user-friendly customer solutions.
  • Engage with in-house lawyers to deeply understand their commercial workflows (contract negotiation, vendor agreements, partnership deals, compliance reviews, etc.) and design advanced AI-powered solutions.
  • Act as the Voice of the Customer by sharing detailed technical insights with Product, ensuring features evolve to meet sophisticated commercial legal needs.
  • Provide expert customer support and technical guidance to help users implement complex contract workflows and playbook strategies.
  • Position GC AI as the trusted commercial legal AI partner by bringing deep technical expertise, contract negotiation credibility, and exceptional customer service to every interaction.

Required Experience

  • 4+ years of experience practicing law, including at least 2 years practicing in-house with significant commercial contract negotiation experience.
  • Proven track record using contract playbooks and standardized negotiation processes in a corporate environment.
  • Deep technical legal skills in contract drafting, negotiation, risk assessment, and commercial deal structuring.
  • A genuine passion for AI — you already use it and love experimenting with advanced prompting techniques.
  • Proven ability to learn quickly, think critically, and apply knowledge to solve complex technical problems.
  • Excellent customer service skills: responsive, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple complex client needs simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain sophisticated legal and technical concepts clearly.

Nice To Have

  • Experience with enterprise contract management and large-scale commercial negotiations.
  • Familiarity with advanced prompt engineering, LLM-powered tools, or workflow automation for contract processes.
  • Background in legal innovation, knowledge management, or legal tech implementation in commercial contexts.
  • Experience with contract analytics or AI-powered contract review tools.
  • Technical aptitude for understanding and optimizing complex AI workflows.
