The Senior Strategic Buyer reports directly to the Commodity Manager. This role leads the procurement of key materials, parts, supplies, and equipment for manufacturing in order to optimize pricing and delivery terms. Reviews current suppliers and identifies areas where pricing opportunities may exist. Leads pricing negotiations.

About the Job

  • Leads daily purchasing activities for a specific group to acquire inventory in a cost effective and timely manner.

  • Reviews current agreements to find opportunities for renegotiations; leads renegotiation discussions that can assist with more competitive pricing or terms.

  • Partners with the business to understand new product development needs, identifies suppliers, and negotiates favorable terms.

  • Identifies, recommends, and drives the processes improvement strategies.

  • Other duties as assigned.

About you

  • Bachelor or university degree

  • Three to five years of experience

  • Experience with global manufacturing companies preferred

  • Advanced knowledge in MS Office

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Strong communication skills

  • High attention to detail
