THE ROLE:

FloCollege is the authentic home for small school college athletics, delivering live events, highlights, and storytelling that helps grow our sports every day. As we continue to expand our live-event social coverage, we are seeking a Social Media Contractor focused on real-time content creation during live events, including nights, weekends, and multi-team championship-style events.

This role is ideal for a fast, creative social media professional who thrives in live environments, understands how to capture moments as they happen, and knows how to turn live competition into engaging, platform-native content that drives growth and monetization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute real-time social media coverage for live events, with a strong emphasis on night and weekend competitions

  • Create engaging, platform-native content for Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, and YouTube (posts, clips, stories, reels, shorts, etc.)

  • Collaborate with FloCollege’s editorial and video teams to align live coverage with broader content and programming strategies

  • Optimize live and editorial content for each platform to maximize engagement, reach, and traffic

  • Drive social executions that support organic monetization goals, including subscriptions, event awareness, and audience growth

  • Edit and publish short-form video content quickly and efficiently during live events

  • Monitor and engage with the FloCollege community in real time through comments, messages, and mentions

  • Track and analyze performance metrics to inform content decisions and improve future live coverage

Build and maintain relationships with athletes, teams, and influencers within the FloCollege ecosystem

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Proven experience as a social media manager or contractor, preferably in sports or live-event environments

  • Strong understanding of social platforms, algorithms, and best practices—especially for live and short-form content

  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and extended event days as required by the live sports calendar

  • Excellent writing skills with a strong feel for voice, tone, and storytelling

  • Demonstrated ability to quickly edit and optimize video for social platforms

  • Strong analytical skills with experience using performance data to guide content strategy

  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently during live events

Knowledge of college softball, baseball, basketball, football, and other NCAA sports is strongly preferred

BONUS

  • Required: Social media portfolio or relevant work samples

  • Join us in helping grow small school college athletics—one post at a time.
