Summary

CHS is looking for an account manager to join the Agronomy Sales Team and support sales in South Dakota. 

Responsibilities

  • Collect and summarize performance data to optimize products and service positioning.
  • Communicate effectively, benefits and make recommendations for all products and services.
  • Communicate interactions to appropriate business units and Country Operations.
  • Coordinate effectively with internal business partners and vendors/suppliers to maintain current and correct retail programs and pricing.
  • Develop new business and grow existing business to meet regional & personal goals.
  • Develop, implement and execute sales growth programs.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external and internal customers, key industry leaders, strategic community partners, and be involved with state and industry associations.
  • Evaluate market research; adjust marketing strategy to meet changing market & competitive conditions.
  • Follow sales processes defined in business unit gap analysis to increase market share and sustainable revenue growth.
  • Implement practical insight that brings value to the grower/owner through effective management of side by side field plots, Innovation Trials, and all associated product positioning and demonstrations.
  • Link customers to other CHS enterprise opportunities.
  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
  • Manage resources effectively, clearly defining priorities and expectations.
  • Manage the product and technical sales process, analyze targeted markets and prospect potential customers.
  • Meet quarterly, annual sales budget and ASR accountability.
  • Partner with key targeted accounts, engaging their commitment to develop and execute an account level growth plan which is reviewed on an annual, quarterly and/or monthly basis to meet the organic sales growth plan of the business unit.
  • Prepare and conduct sales presentations, contracts, and proposals.
  • Promote the sales and marketing to targeted accounts in their territory.
  • Provide account services, which ensure high post-sales satisfaction, and facilitate positive long-term relationships.
  • Remain current on industry trends and recommend development for cutting edge technology.
  • Utilize and maintain a home office in the assigned sales territory.
  • Train & develop new hires, mentor junior staff, take a more senior leadership role within the group.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • 4+ years in Sales and/or Business Development
  • Ability to travel up to 50%

Additional Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Business, Communications, Marketing, or in a related field.
