We’re seeking a Certified Medical Coder to join us. This is a remote position.  What you'll do:
  • Assign accurate ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and modifier codes based on medical documentation
  • Ensure compliance with CMS, payer-specific, and regulatory coding guidelines
  • Review provider documentation for completeness and query providers when clarification is needed
  • Maintain productivity and quality standards
  • Conduct internal coding audits (retrospective and/or concurrent)
  • Track audit findings and support quality improvement initiatives
  • Investigate/resolve coding related issues
  • Review and resolve coding related denials and rejections
  • Support appeal processes with coding validation and documentation review
  • Collaborate with internal teams to improve first-pass resolution rates
What you'll bring to Zotec:
  • Current Certification – AHIMA or AAPC
  • Completed ICD10 Certification/Training, preferred
  • 2+ years of experience coding Primary Care or Urgent Care coding reports
  • Experience working coding denials
  • Ability to work on internet-based coding programs
  • Thorough knowledge of medical office operations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Work, Outlook and Excel
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Capable of prioritizing workflow and able to ensure deadlines are met
  • High school diploma or equivalent
