ROLE DESCRIPTION

 We’re hiring a mid-level, product-oriented engineer who is comfortable building across AI systems and mobile applications. This person will help bring AI-powered features directly into the hands of users through iOS and Android experiences. You’ll work across backend services, AI/ML systems, and mobile apps, turning complex physiological and clinical data into intuitive, high-impact product features. This is a hands-on builder role focused on shipping—ideal for someone who uses modern AI tools in their daily workflow and enjoys working across the stack, including mobile.

This role reports to the CTO.

Wesper is transforming the sleep industry by shrinking an entire sleep lab to a single wearable patch, helping millions live better, longer lives. Our platform delivers consumer comfort with clinical performance by using cutting-edge sensor design, a cloud-native suite of state-of-the-art algorithms and a sleek mobile app, creating a seamless experience for both patient and doctor. WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Build and ship AI-powered features into iOS and Android applications
  • Develop backend services and APIs that power mobile-first AI experiences
  • Implement LLM-based workflows, including:
    • Retrieval-augmented generation (RAG)
    • Prompt engineering and evaluation
    • Lightweight agent-based interactions
  • Translate AI outputs into clear, responsive mobile UX patterns
  • Collaborate with product and design to deliver end-to-end mobile features
  • Contribute to data pipelines and ML systems for physiological and sleep data
  • Support deployment, monitoring, and iteration of AI systems in production
  • Use AI-assisted coding tools to increase development speed and quality

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3–5 years of experience building and shipping software products
  • Experience developing mobile applications (iOS and/or Android):
    • Native (Swift / Kotlin) or cross-platform (React Native, Flutter)
  • Strong Python skills and experience building backend services/APIs
  • Experience integrating APIs into mobile apps and working with real-time data
  • Exposure to modern AI/LLM tools (OpenAI APIs, LangChain, etc.)
  • Experience contributing to production systems (mobile, backend, or AI)
  • Strong understanding of mobile performance, responsiveness, and UX constraints

BONUS ITEMS

  • Experience building AI-powered features in mobile apps (chat interfaces, summaries, recommendations)
  • Familiarity with on-device vs. cloud-based AI tradeoffs
  • Experience with healthcare, wearables, or sensor data
  • Exposure to Bluetooth, HealthKit, Google Fit, or similar integrations
  • Familiarity with embeddings, vector databases, or RAG pipelines
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP) and basic MLOps concepts
  • Startup or small-team experience

COMPENSATION This role has a fixed yearly base salary of $70,000 - $80, 000 USD. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
