Position at Ziff Davis Shopping The OpportunityThe Ziff Davis Shopping team is seeking a Senior Manager, Product Merchandising to lead a talented team of merchandisers in defining how we curate and promote the best deals for our audience. In this role, you will sit at the vital intersection of content and commerce, reporting to the GVP, Global Ops and partnering with our Product and Engineering teams to scale our new product deals offering. You will guide your team in leveraging advanced automation and smart selection tools to handle routine curation, allowing you to focus on the high-value editorial "edge" that truly differentiates our brands. Are you ready to own the strategy for our next-generation shopping experience?Key Responsibilities:- Drive the strategy for product deal selection and curation, ensuring our brands offer the most relevant and high-quality product deals to our readers.
- Lead a team of product merchandisers and oversee the transition to more efficient tech-enabled workflows.
- Streamline 90% of manual tasks through smart automation and AI.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to identify the critical 10% of human editorial input - the expertise and storytelling - that creates a superior user experience.
- Balance data-driven efficiency with editorial intuition and excellence.
- Mentor the team to prioritize high-impact work and deliver strategic impact rather than simply completing tasks
- Lead the merchandising strategy for high-conversion product discovery.
- Manage and develop a team of merchandisers focused on editorial excellence.
- Partner with technical teams to refine automated selection and promotion logic.
- Define the high-value human touchpoints that distinguish our commerce content.
- Analyze performance metrics to optimize curation and business outcomes.
- 10 years e-commerce experience and 5 years managing teams
- Deep background in e-commerce product merchandising and professional editorial experience.
- Expertise in designing and deploying AI tooling for product deals selection
- Natural "eye" for compelling product deals and a proven track record of managing teams in fast-moving digital environments.
- Comfortable with modern digital tools and collaborating with technical product teams to improve internal workflows.
- Demonstrated ability to use data to drive decision-making while maintaining high editorial standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field, with several years of digital commerce experience.
- Extensive experience in digital merchandising and editorial content strategy.
- Proven experience managing people and leading cross-functional projects.
- Proficiency in modern digital tools and commerce data analysis.
- Demonstrated success in improving operational efficiency through technology.
