About The Role Are you ready to help ensure mission‑critical Army systems perform reliably in real‑world operations? As a QA Engineer, you’ll support the delivery of a tactical application that enables near real‑time situational awareness by transforming free‑text inputs into structured, actionable data. Working under the guidance of the QA Lead, you’ll execute comprehensive testing across AI‑enabled workflows, real‑time data streaming, Appian components, and integrated systems—validating end‑to‑end data flows from user input through downstream operational platforms. As part of an Agile team, you’ll help embed quality throughout the development lifecycle, ensuring solutions meet the Army’s operational, performance, and security requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop test plans, QA and/or User Acceptance Testing processes and test cases.
  • Implement testing programs to perform quality assurance on technical applications, including negative testing and usability.
  • Design and/or run automated testing scripts.
  • Maintain the level of quality throughout the software life cycle.
  • Create quality assurance documentation and reports as required.
  • Adhere to established software testing governance policies, best practices and guidelines and recommend improvements.
  • Coordinate with product team and software engineers to recommend solutions to maximize performance and efficiency.
  • Participate in an Agile-Scrum environment to complete all work products
  • Examine and evaluate the software quality assurance (SQA) process and recommend enhancements and modifications.
  • Interpret software test results and recommend solutions for unsatisfactory test results.
  • Support User acceptance testing
  • Train end users on Appian enhancements and features following release cycles.

Required Qualifications

  • At least five (5) years of experience creating, developing, and executing test cases for User Acceptance Testing (UAT), Unit Testing, websites, and testing multiple features to ensure website functions properly and as expected.
  • Software testing experience (integration and acceptance) on multiple projects.
  • Three (3) years of experience testing database interfaces in a multi release project environment.
  • Three (3) years of experience creating development and execution of test cases for interoperability testing, System Integration testing and Performance testing of a multi-tier Internet and Intranet Solution.
  • At least two (2) years of experience on Appian projects
  • Familiarity with Appian functional testing, expression testing, and performance testing.
  • Have familiarity with Data Quality Assurance methods and testing procedures
  • Some experience with real-time data streaming: Ability to test data flow between various systems (e.g., Appian, Kafka, databases, etc.), ensuring that data flows smoothly and correctly across platforms.
  • Experience preparing test scripts and test cases using AI and for testing AI workflows.
  • Experience preparing data for AI testing
  • Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain one.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with establishing and executing automated test procedures is a plus.
  • Experience testing AI workflows involving non-deterministic models is strongly desired.
