Project Manager

A Little Bit About Us:

Saphetor’s mission is to enable anyone to find, share and use the most comprehensive human genome data – and to collaborate to improve health and lives around the world.

To do this we have built the VarSome suite of bioinformatic tools, the world’s leading resource for analysis and interpretation of human genome variant data, with more than 6 000 citations in scientific papers, and over 60 000 registered professional users. Our customers work around the globe across academic, clinical, and industry laboratories analysing NGS (Next Generation Sequencing) data for research and diagnostic purposes.

Saphetor is a Swiss precision medicine company with offices in Lausanne (CH), Boston (USA), and Athens (GR) employing a diverse global workforce.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a proactive Project Manager to bridge our development, testing and support teams. Working closely with senior management and tech leads, you will drive roadmap execution and refine our methodologies in a high-impact, fast-paced environment.

Role Responsibilities

  • Project Delivery: Take full responsibility for the delivery of assigned projects, developing scopes, defining objectives, and coordinating internal resources across development, QA, and support.
  • Methodology Evolution: Help further evolve our high-level project management approach, ensuring seamless coordination across cross-functional teams.
  • Process Improvement: Optimize the software development life-cycle (SDLC) by organizing post-project reviews and implementing process automation and feedback loops.
  • Coordination & Reporting: Organize prioritization meetings, maintain the high-level project roadmap, keep detailed minutes, and produce progress reports for the senior management team.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Facilitate close collaboration between technical team leads and possibly engage with external software providers, service providers, or clients.
  • Workflow Optimization: Assist in improving the project management workflow with suggestions for better tooling and automation.

The Ideal Candidate (Profile)

The ideal candidate is a structured thinker who thrives in a multi-project environment. You bridge the gap between technical requirements and business objectives, possessing the communication skills to influence teams and the analytical mindset to document complex deliverables accurately.

What you will bring:

  • Experience: At least 2+ years of professional experience in project management, ideally within a software development or tech-focused environment.
  • Education: An MSc. in Business, Management, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Tooling Expertise: Proficiency with project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Trello, or ClickUp.
  • Business Analysis: Proven experience in documenting requirements, defining deliverables, and managing user acceptance reports.
  • Execution Focus: Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Soft Skills: Strong initiative, proactive work mentality, and the ability to work independently while keeping a team-oriented focus.
  • Communication: Fluency in English (written and verbal) is required; knowledge of additional foreign languages is a plus.

While our foundation is in Athens, our talent pool is spread across Europe, with a strong culture of remote collaboration. Our team is highly experienced in distributed Agile workflows and communicates exclusively in fluent English.

Your career journey with us includes, among others:

  • A position in a fascinating healthcare growth domain, at the cutting edge of technology and research
  • A competitive compensation package tailored to your unique expertise and professional background.
  • A remote-first work environment that promotes a healthy work-life balance
  • Endless learning opportunities, while transferring new technologies from academics to clinical practice all over the world.

Saphetor is proud to be an Equal Opportunities Employer. We provide equal employment opportunities to all qualified applicants and our employees, regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, medical condition or disability, sexual orientation, gender expression, or marital status.
