Experienced Assistant Manager Cargo Customer Service – Relentlessly Reliable Service in Cargo Operations

We're now seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Manager Cargo Customer Service to join our team in San Diego, USA.

Job Summary

As an Assistant Manager Cargo Customer Service, you'll play a critical role in supporting our Cargo Manager of Operations with daily and monthly responsibilities at our Denver (DEN) Station. You'll build relationships with shipment customers, work closely with diverse employees on the station, and manage our Cargo Supervisors and Agents. Your exceptional communication skills and ability to create a significant impact will ensure a safe, efficient, and on-time operation for shipments across our network.

Responsibilities

* Verifies that high-quality work is accomplished throughout the Cargo Operation

  • Works to accurately identify deficiencies and understand successes
  • Maintains effective operating relationships with station leadership, the TWU 555, shipment sales, vendors, and other departments to ensure operational excellence
  • Supports the Cargo Manager of Operations with local responsibilities
  • Assists in hiring and education of Cargo Agents and Cargo Supervisors
  • Ensures the productivity of SWA Cargo Employees and Cargo Contract Handlers regarding staffing, scheduling, hours of operation, and product carrier levels
  • Ensures centers and equipment are maintained in exact repair and assists with center projects
  • Maintains radical and modern knowledge of all TSA security policies regarding Cargo, as well as SWA Cargo rules and strategies, and guarantees compliance
  • Provides interest and help to all SWA Cargo Customers and Internal Customers
  • May perform other process responsibilities as directed by Employee's Leaders

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

* Extensive experience in the areas of Cargo, Ramp, and Operations

  • Ability to satisfy confidentiality expectations as to confidential, proprietary, and sensitive Company information
  • Ability to lead and inspire a team
  • Ability to satisfy the public and work properly under demanding conditions
  • Ability to correctly speak verbally and in writing
  • Ability to remain privy to hazardous conditions and manage emergencies as needed

Education

* Required: High School Diploma or GED

Experience

* Fully functioning, extensive experience in: + Leadership + Cargo, Ramp, and Operations

  • Preferred: Experience in a union environment and/or union agreement expertise
  • Preferred: Knowledge of airport operations compliance
