Position Overview:

St. Thomas University College of Nursing invites applications for an online full-time Assistant/Associate Professor of Nursing position in the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP). The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the future of the various nursing programs through teaching, clinical supervision, research, and service. This faculty member will contribute to the success of nursing students, delivering a student-centered educational experience in line with the University’s mission of fostering ethical leadership, cultural diversity and academic excellence that reflect our Catholic identity. The position offers opportunities for professional growth, collaboration, and making a significant impact in nursing education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach a variety of graduate nursing courses, including but not limited to general nursing and specialized courses in the candidate’s area of expertise, including Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), or other related programs.
  • Develop and implement innovative, evidence-based teaching strategies for online learning environments.
  • Provide academic advising and mentorship to students, helping them set academic and professional goals.
  • Engage in curriculum development, program assessment and evaluation, and continuous improvement initiatives for nursing programs.
  • Participate in faculty meetings and accreditation-related activities, including assisting the Dean of Nursing with the preparation of CCNE accreditation documents.
  • Maintain office hours as per St. Thomas University guidelines and support the program’s goals through direct involvement in faculty initiatives.
  • Actively participate in simulation-based learning activities as needed.
  • Collaborate with faculty members to enhance student learning, clinical placements, and program development.
  • Participate in departmental, college, and university service activities, including faculty committees and community engagement.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that promotes student success and addresses the needs of a diverse student population.
  • Conduct and publish research in areas related to nursing practice, education, or healthcare.
  • Stay current with advances in nursing practice and education to continuously improve teaching and clinical instruction.
