Engineering Technician

VHB is an inspired and innovative team of engineers, scientists, planners, and designers who partner with clients in various industries. They are seeking an Engineering Technician to play an integral role in the planning, design, and detailing of transportation-related projects, including highways and bridges.

Responsibilities

  • Perform modeling and design for highway and other transportation infrastructure projects
  • Prepare construction documents, including plans, estimates, and calculation packages
  • Provide technical support to highway engineering staff
  • Provide project management support

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, or equivalent relevant engineering experience of 1-3 years (may include co-op/internship experience)
  • Strong technical skills in bridge design
  • Experience developing design reports, plans, and construction cost estimates
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Self-motivated and commitment to learning
  • Excellent attention to detail and critical thinking
  • Effective and comfortable in a highly collaborative team environment
  • Bentley OpenRoads experience is a strong plus
