About the position Due to growth, we are adding a Portfolio Value Manager, EPMO to our team! The Portfolio Value Manager, EPMO is responsible for ensuring that enterprise initiatives deliver measurable business value across assigned portfolios. The Portfolio Value Manager partners with business and technology leaders to define, evaluate, and refine portfolio projects/epics and to provide transparency into value, benefits, dependencies, progress, barriers, and outcomes across the organization. The Portfolio Value Manager works cross-functionally to bring visibility to technology barriers, commonalities, and efficiency opportunities to realize project outcomes as effectively as possible. Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of coordinated bodies of work assigned to technology teams to advance the strategic goals of capital projects and the portfolio. Organize and coordinate bodies of work and provide strategic guidance to assigned teams and project managers.
  • Actively contribute to the EPMO project prioritization and portfolio balancing processes by providing estimations, insight, and expertise into recommendations and implications of portfolio changes.
  • Facilitate post-delivery benefit tracking and reporting process across the project portfolio.
  • Facilitate demand planning and align to capacity data from technology areas to forecast future resource and capacity needs or opportunities. Communicate insights with key stakeholders and collaborate on mitigation strategies as needed.
  • Conduct and provide analysis and operational insights for the assigned project portfolio(s) and related performance metrics. Monitor benefits realization and track progress toward achieving portfolio strategic goals.
  • Identify and manage cross-portfolio dependencies; work collaboratively to document, resolve and, where necessary, escalate issues to leadership.
  • Work across teams to identify opportunities for improvement in solution delivery and project management practices.
  • Provide leaders with timely, accurate information and data to support effective decision-making.
  • Monitor benefits realization and track progress toward achieving portfolio strategic goals.
  • In partnership with Release Train Engineers and technology owners, ensure portfolio-level issues, risks, and decisions are visible across enterprise portfolios.
  • Support continuous improvements to strengthen the flow of value from the portfolio through delivery and technology teams. Research, recommend, and support the adoption of continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business operations, project management, or related field, or equivalent work experience, required.
  • Scrum Master, Product Owner, project management, or other relevant certification required. Additional project management certification preferred. Lean Six Sigma knowledge and/or certification preferred.
  • 7 years’ experience managing complex, high-risk, and high-visibility initiatives using a combination of agile and project management practices required.
  • Proven ability to apply and adapt delivery standards within complex organizations and across multiple IT domains (infrastructure, enterprise data, software development, etc.).
  • 5 years’ experience leading cross-functional, interdependent, and complex portfolios, programs, or projects in a health plan or pharmacy benefit management environment required.
  • Experience with project tracking tools (MS Project, ADO, PPM Pro, Smartsheet).
  • Experience working within an Enterprise PMO, abiding by and participating in development of governance processes, excellence best practices, and oversight / steering committees.
  • Participate in, adhere to, and support compliance program objectives
  • The ability to consistently interact cooperatively and respectfully with other employees
