Learn more about CPC's culture and Great Place to Work Certification by clicking on the link below: Working at Center for Primary Care | Great Place To Work® Reporting to the Office Manager, the Certified Medical Assistants perform a variety of administrative and clinical tasks to help improve care for patients and support providers. The CMA is responsible in helping the physician determine how best to meet patient needs and engage them in their own care using a variety of tools, processes, and personnel as appropriate. The Hybrid/Remote CMA will collaborate with the Office Manager for specific Remote and onsite hours. Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates, through behavior, Center for Primary Care's Mission Statement.
  • Promotes positive public relations towards patients, visitors, families, physicians, and others.
  • Exhibits characteristics consistent with CPC values for quality, teamwork, and pride.
  • Screening, prioritizing, and returning patient calls according to office procedure.
  • Schedules appointments according to office procedure and to patient's need.
  • Verifies Insurance Eligibility.
  • Assists with new patient paperwork and patient updates.
  • Schedules follow-up visits for patients.
  • Always maintains patient confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines.
  • Communicates effectively by telephone and to the patient at his/her level of understanding.
  • Promotes positive public relations to patients, visitors, families, physicians, and others.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Pre-visit planning workflow to ensure care completion prior to visit whenever possible, and After-visit summary review with patients whenever appropriate.
  • Manages many aspects of the patients care:

Prior authorizations for medications, referrals to specialists, hospitalizations, ER visits, ancillary testing, and other enabling services.

  • Responsible for working with patient and patients care team to coordinate change readiness, needs assessment and develop an individualized treatment care plan.

Licensure, Certification, or Registration: Certified Medical Assistant Certification required. Experience: Minimum 1+ years of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant preferred.

  • Knowledgeable of electronic medical record system and Laboratory Information Systems.
  • Ability to identify emergent medical situations.
  • Ability to effectively function in a fast-paced, time-sensitive work environment.
  • Capable of managing several tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
