Commerce Decisions Ltd is looking to hire a Senior Procurement Consultant with a technical background in software-led consultancy, ideally within complex procurement environments. This role will focus on supporting and developing new and existing business, working closely with the VP of Professional Services as well as our wider professional services and sales teams.

We are based near Abingdon in Oxfordshire and offer remote working opportunities. Occasional travel to customer sites, partner locations, conferences, and company meetings will be required as needed. Our target market is geographically spread across the UK, with a concentration between London and Wales.

What you will do

Your key responsibilities will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Support delivery across the breadth of Professional Services products (including Criteria development, weighting, VfM, evaluation design, evaluation support), ensuring outputs are defensible, auditable and aligned to client objectives.

  • Manage engagements with clients, working with or acting as the Lead Consultant, to ensure we delivery effective and timely support, as well as value for money to our clients – whilst controlling and escalating risks appropriately. 

  • Work closely with the Sales Team, to position, develop and win new business – organically within existing projects, in identifying new leads and contacts, and in developing propositions for new clients and markets. 

  • Play an active role in the process of quality management and peer review, operating within our policies and guidance. 

  • Undertake AWARD® configuration and peer reviews to support the software delivery, and support clients in their use of AWARD®.

  • Help to promote the products and services in the wider market through e.g. webinars, event attendance, use of social media, public speaking, white papers, etc.

  • Support the VP PS in identifying and implementing improvements to the delivery of the Professional Services products, including through the use of AI.

What we are looking for

  • Eligible to obtain UK Security Check (SC) Clearance

  • Proven experience delivering software-led consultancy, ideally within the public sector

  • Experience managing and building strong client relationships

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with strong interpersonal abilities

  • Ability to manage and deliver small projects effectively

  • Willingness to travel within the UK and, ideally, internationally

  • Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure

  • Highly organised, proactive, and self-motivated working style

  • Proficient in standard MS Office applications

  • University degree (or equivalent experience)

Desirable:

  • Experience in public procurement competition design and evaluation. 

  • Understanding of UK Government/Defence Procurement processes 

  • A strong desire to learn about new software applications 

  • Ability to manage inter-related project requirements
