Require Education Specialist in Alaska

Job Summary: The education specialist is responsible for coordinating educational opportunities for students in the following programs:

• The FNSBSD homeschool program grades K-12
• The structured online program for grades 9-12

Retirement: State of Alaska TRS Bargaining Unit: Fairbanks Education Association (FEA) Salary: Determined by the Contract Length: Minimum of 184 days Job Qualifications/Requirements (please review job description for qualifications and duties of the position): * Must hold a valid Alaska Type A teaching certificate. Applicants/employees must have a minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience.

• Must exhibit strong oral, and written communication skills; excellent data collection and interpretation skills.
• Must have skills in the use of multimedia and computer technology.
• Must possess strong working knowledge of content, curricula other than that approved by the FNSBSD, methods, and materials of instructional specialty; analytical skills to accurately assess complex issues.
• Must possess knowledge of community resources, and demonstrate a thorough knowledge of homeschool and alternative educational programs; in particular, online learning, and blended learning.
