The Department of Human Development and Family Studies invites applications for a position as a lecturer or professional practice assistant professor.
This is a non-tenure track, 9-month, full-time position. Review of applications will begin October 20, 2023, and continue until the position is filled. The anticipated start date is August 2024.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities include teaching online and in-person Family Finance classes, mentoring undergraduate and graduate students in the Family Finance program, preparing students to take the Accredited Financial Counseling (AFC) exam, mentoring teaching assistants, being the university liaison with the Association of Financial Counseling and Planning Education, and working with the director of the Housing and Financial Counseling center to prepare students for the counseling practicum.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Demonstrated teaching effectiveness
- Demonstrated ability to work with a variety of human service agencies
- Demonstrated knowledge of Family Finance or closely related field
- Course development experience
- Financial Counseling supervision experience
- Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC) designation through the Association of Financial Counseling and Planning Education or near completion
- M.S. in a related field
- Practicum supervision and lab experiences
- PhD in a related field
- Demonstrated experience in research
- Experience teaching large classes
- Demonstrated experience in teaching online courses
- Demonstrated experience in mentoring students
- Financial Counseling and Coaching experience
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness (e.g., course evaluations) to be uploaded in the Candidate Profile under Documents 1-10
