Job title: PreK-8 Tlingit Language Teacher Company: Alaska Teacher Placement Job description: Pay is dependent on experience and education for placement on the salary scale Monday through Friday ? Full Time Duties: The individual in this position will be responsible to carry out the duties of a Tlingit language teacher within the department of instruction.

• Working directly with students, other teaching staff, and administration. ? Teach Tlingit language and cultural activities.
• Follow student individual education plans related to instruction.
• Complete mandated trainings

• Other duties as assigned Ability to:

Experience in teaching practices of second language learning Experience speaking and teaching Tlingit language Supervise students with little guidance Use digital communications (phone, text, email) Qualifications: Have a high school diploma. It is preferred to have a valid Alaska teaching certificate with appropriate endorsement or a valid Alaska Type M limited certificate(requires that the individual demonstrate subject matter expertise in Alaska Native language or culture)(visit http://www.eed.state.ak.us/TeacherCertification for details on Alaska certification), or the ability to obtain Alaska certification.
