Job Summary

As a Virology Customer Team Leader, you'll be responsible for leading a team of sales professionals in the Northwest District. This is a field-based sales management position that requires a strong understanding of the healthcare industry, excellent leadership skills, and a customer-centric approach. You'll be responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies, coaching and mentoring your team, and driving sales growth in the region.

Responsibilities

* Lead a team of sales professionals in the Northwest District, providing coaching, mentoring, and guidance to ensure they meet their sales targets and achieve their full potential.

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to drive growth in the region, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and success.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, understanding their needs and preferences, and developing solutions that meet their requirements.
  • Collaborate with other teams, including Commercial Operations Directors, Account Managers, and more, to ensure seamless execution of sales strategies and programs.
  • Develop business plans for the region, implementing national sales strategies and programs to drive growth and achieve sales targets.
  • Communicate and coordinate with district and cross-functional teams, sharing best practices and expertise to drive success.
  • Lead district sales meetings to inform and guide the sales team, providing updates on sales performance, market trends, and company initiatives.
  • Conduct annual and ongoing performance reviews and competency assessments for direct reports, providing feedback and coaching to ensure they meet their full potential.
  • Handle discipline and termination of employees as needed, in accordance with company policy and in partnership with Human Resources.

Requirements

* Bachelor's degree + 6-8 years of sales experience or a high school diploma with 10+ years of equivalent experience, with at least 4 years in pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare industries preferred.

  • Equivalent experience can be professional sales experience, work experience in the healthcare/scientific field (including pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical devices) that is not sales related, professional marketing experience, or military experience.
  • Capable of establishing relationships and networks within a customer organization.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to travel within the assigned sales district at least 50% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications

* MBA/MS degree.

  • First-line people management experience leading a field-based sales team.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with key thought leaders or high-influence customers in large group practices, hospitals, or managed care organizations.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in Marketing, Managed Care, or Sales support areas within the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Customer-centric mindset and the skills needed to listen to customers and understand their objectives and overall relationship with our broader organization.
  • Leads by example by creating and maintaining a performance-based team culture that's aligned to our Virology Sales organization's goals, as well as our company's ways of working, enterprise leadership skills, and core values.
  • Demonstrated account planning and management skills and strong collaboration with extended teams toward common goals.

Compensation and Benefits

* The salary range for this role is $169,700.00 - $267,200.00, with an annual bonus and long-term incentive, if applicable.
