Responsibilities:
  • As a Configuration/Release Manager you will be working with engineers, designers, developers and product managers supporting operations and maintenance of various VA applications and systems. 
  • Develop a Configuration Management (CM) Plan adhering to VA guidelines and processes clearly identifying configuration items and CM procedures, prepare configuration documentation and CM database. 
  • Provide support to project teams in configuring and base-lining configuration items. 
  • Identify and track Configuration Items, and maintain technical baseline documentation.
  • Review and recommend improvements to existing CM processes. 
  • Maintain data quality, integrity and security of CM database. 
  • Schedule audits on CM database and assist in implementing audit recommendations. 
  • Develop security guidelines to avoid unauthorized damage or usage of project items. 
  • Work with configuration teams in development and enhancement of tools. 
  • Assist in management, maintenance, and automating of CM tools. 
  • Maintain proper version controls of software deliverables. 
  • Oversee the delivery of software applications in test and deployment environments. 
  • Analyze configuration issues and propose appropriate resolutions. 
Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience in a Configuration/Release Management role, managing configurations for multiple software packages simultaneously.
  • Experience as a contributing member of an Agile Scrum team, communicating with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience working on Federal programs that are of high priority, visibility, and public-facing.
  • Experience with Agile delivery programs.
  • Must be able to work quickly with a high degree of accuracy with cross-functional teams.
  • Able to work under minimal supervision, act independently and exercise an expert level of decision-making capability.
  • Excellent writing skills and ability to produce polished written products.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience using Microsoft Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, and Access.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business or related scientific / technical discipline.
  • Additional 8 years’ relevant experience may be substituted for Bachelor’s degree (total of 18 years experience).
  • NDIA or CMII Configuration Management certifications desired.

Clearance

  • Ability to obtain Moderate Background Investigation (MBI) clearance.

Location

  • Remote, USA.

Pay Range

  • This position ranges from $81,145 to $90,625.
  • The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
  • Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as bonuses.
