This full-time position (32 hours/week) offers a unique opportunity to work on varying shifts, including evenings and weekends, with a shift differential for eligible hours.

Job Summary

We're seeking an experienced Veterinary Customer Services Representative to provide exceptional front-line client services, support clients, customers, clinicians, and care-giving colleagues, and maintain a safe and accurate environment. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a self-directed manner, interacting with customers, visitors, clinicians, technicians, and all other medical center faculty and staff.

Key Responsibilities

* Respond to routine, complex, and medical emergency situations in a professional manner

  • Answer and direct internal and external calls appropriately
  • Create accurate day-to-day admitting information through the hospital computer system
  • Resolve routine problems and complex situations using appropriate medical terminology, office practices, and procedures, and established customer service principles
  • Maintain safe and accurate money handling practices and abide by all university privacy standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Essential Qualifications

* 2 years of experience in a customer service, healthcare, or veterinary care environment

  • Background in customer services, insurance verification, and/or veterinary practice customer services
  • Ability to work in a self-directed manner while interacting with customers, visitors, clinicians, technicians, and all other medical center faculty and staff
  • Experience in analyzing and interpreting information
  • Experience with electronic medical records systems and/or at least experience operating computers

* Experience working in a veterinary hospital or clinic

  • Knowledge of medical terminology and veterinary practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
