Job description: Innovative Academy Learning Center in San Diego/Rancho Bernardo (92128) is looking for MATH and language art to assist students with subject tutoring and instruct students enrolled in our elementary and highly acclaimed ACT and SAT exam prep programs. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates from ANY industry. Looking for strong candidates that can teach Math, and English, and work with elementary and high school-age students.
Requirements and qualifications include:
- Part-time position; 4-7/8 pm Monday through Friday (must work a minimum of 2/3 days a week). You must be flexible and reliable. Willing to work a minimum of 2-3 days (6-10 hours) per week. You must be within reasonable commuting distance of the center receiving your resume. You must have a strong desire to make a difference in the lives of children.
- College graduates or students excelling in Math courses are encouraged to apply. Requirement in Education or related field (Engineering, Law, Sciences, History, English)Teaching Certificate preferred, but not required for some jobs.
- To work with elementary students you must possess strong decoding skills and phonemic awareness
- Passion for math, strong math skills, able to teach common core math/ mental math
- Passion for language arts, phonics, decoding, spelling, comprehension
- Prior to teaching or tutoring experience with younger students
- Passion for working with kids ages 4 - 18
- College graduates or students excelling in English and or Math courses
- Strong Reading/Writing/English skills
- Bilingual is a plus
- Outstanding communication skills
- Enthusiastic, outgoing, and team-oriented personality
- Must demonstrate care and compassion toward children
- Motivated to take the initiative to ensure that a student?s time at Innovative Academy Learning Center is memorable
