Urgently Require Behavioral Specialist in Illinois

Job title: Behavioral Specialist Company: Lake County Schools Job description: JOB OVERVIEW: To provide support to teaching teams in managing marked behavioral issues including observing, modeling, plan development, and support. This person will also support students in crisis in any of the buildings including our district programs. QUALIFICATIONS: This position will require a professional BCBA, LBS1 or Social Worker endorsement, pre-kindergarten through Age 21. A completed/submitted online application, resumé, and letters of recommendation as required on the online application Ability to work as a lead team member Hold a valid Illinois Professional Educator License or other License as required The ability to speak a foreign language a plus PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: * Demonstrate accurate, up-to-date knowledge of content and learning standards

• Foster a classroom climate conducive to learning
• Utilize instructional management systems that maximize student learning
• Differentiate instruction and monitor student progress towards achieving instructional objectives and goals
• Plans and supervises assignments for assistants and volunteers
• Promote and maintain positive pupil-teacher-parent relationships
• Meet professional responsibilities as outlined in the Staff Handbook
• Continue to seek professional development opportunities as required by the State for license renewal
• Maintain professional work habits
• Communicate effectively within the educational community
• Maintain your Professional Educator License as required by law

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES RELATED TO PUPIL SERVICES * Assess students? communication skills (articulation, fluency, voice, expressive and receptive language, etc.) for the purpose of identifying communication disorders, determining program eligibility, and developing recommendations for academic support

• Serve as a specialist to the education team and as a member of the Pupil Services team
• Plan and supervise assignments for Program Assistants working with all students
• Prepare an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) for students at least annually
• Maintain accurate documentation adhering to the dates and timelines set forth by Federal and State governments, and Community Consolidated School District 46
• Collect continual data reflecting growth tied to the students? needs for support and/or the IEP goal
• Share in school-related duties as assigned by the Director of Pupil Services
