About the Role

As a Customer Engineer specializing in AI/ML for Healthcare and Life Sciences, you will work with Technical Sales teams as a machine learning subject matter expert to differentiate arenaflex Cloud to our customers. In this role, you will help prospective customers and partners understand the power of arenaflex Cloud, explaining technical features, helping customers design architectures, and problem-solving any potential roadblocks.

Additionally, you will have the opportunity to help customers leverage specialized Machine Learning (ML) hardware developed by arenaflex (e.g., Tensor Processing Units). You will work closely with customers and product development to shape these platforms, ensuring that our hardware and software solutions meet the rigorous demands of healthcare applications, from medical imaging analysis to drug discovery and genomic research.

Key Responsibilities

Your day-to-day responsibilities will be diverse and impactful, requiring you to blend technical expertise with exceptional communication skills. Here's what you can expect:

  • Business Opportunity Identification: Work with the team to identify and qualify business opportunities, understand key customer technical objections, and develop strategies to resolve technical blockers that prevent customers from adopting our solutions.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide machine learning expertise to support the technical relationship with arenaflex's customers, including product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and direct partnership with product management to prioritize solutions impacting customer adoption to arenaflex Cloud.
  • Customer Engagement: Work with customers to demonstrate and prototype arenaflex Cloud product integrations in customer/partner environments, ensuring seamless implementation and maximum value delivery.
  • Architecture Design: Recommend integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure required to implement complete solutions using best practices on arenaflex Cloud.
  • Travel & Collaboration: Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events as needed to build relationships, understand customer needs firsthand, and represent arenaflex at industry events.
  • Solution Development: Collaborate with product development teams to influence the roadmap for ML hardware and software, specifically for healthcare and life sciences use cases.
  • Thought Leadership: Serve as a subject matter expert in healthcare AI/ML, creating technical content, whitepapers, and presentations that showcase arenaflex's capabilities in this space.

Required Qualifications

To thrive in this role, you'll need a strong technical foundation combined with proven customer-facing experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience as a pre-sales engineer at an enterprise technology company or a similar customer-facing role.
  • Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders.
  • Experience with big data, machine learning, and numerical programming frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, Python, MATLAB).
  • Demonstrated ability to understand complex technical requirements and translate them into business value.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate technical challenges creatively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, these qualifications will help you stand out and make an immediate impact:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Experience in building machine learning solutions and leveraging specific machine learning architectures (e.g., deep learning, LSTM, convolutional networks).
  • Experience in architecting and developing software or infrastructure for scalable, distributed systems.
  • Experience in data and information management as it relates to big data trends and issues within businesses.
  • Ability to learn quickly, understand, and work with new emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the cloud/IT technology space.
  • Knowledge of healthcare industry regulations (HIPAA, FDA, etc.) and experience working with healthcare data.
  • Familiarity with healthcare-specific AI applications such as medical imaging, electronic health records (EHR), clinical decision support, or drug discovery.

  • Base Salary: The US base salary range for this full-time position is $139,000-$213,000, commensurate with experience and location.
