Electrical Engineer, P.E. – PV Design (Remote – NY/NJ/CT/PA Applicants Only)

Talva Energy is a rapidly growing renewable energy firm specializing in consulting, development, and engineering. We work in the public and private sectors in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, and Western regions of the United States. At Talva, we provide consulting services and turnkey solutions for customers seeking PV Solar, Microgrid, Electric Fleet Conversion, Geothermal/Heat Pump Conversion, Roofing Solutions, and other energy conservation measures. Talva Energy is seeking an Electrical Engineer (PE licensed) with experience designing mid- to large-scale solar PV and battery energy storage systems (100kW–5MW). The ideal candidate is based in NY, NJ, CT, or PA, has hands-on PV design experience, and is excited about both technical design and field work, including site visits and project sign-off. Responsibilities: · Design and engineer solar PV and BESS systems (100kW–5MW) · Prepare construction documents, drawings, and specifications using AutoCAD · Lead technical aspects of utility coordination, interconnection, and permitting · Review and sign/seal drawings, vendor documents, BOMs, and commissioning packages · Oversee internal/external designers and consultants to ensure quality deliverables · Perform system studies (arc flash, short circuit, SKM modeling) and production analysis (PVsyst) · Provide technical support during project development, construction, and commissioning · Mentor junior engineers and support cross-functional collaboration with sales and operations Qualifications: · Professional Engineer (PE) Licensure required (Electrical) · BS in Electrical Engineering (advanced degree preferred) · 5+ years’ professional engineering experience, with 2+ years in solar PV design · Strong understanding of NEC, 3-phase power systems, MV interconnections, and grounding · Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; PVsyst, SKM, or ETAP preferred · Hands-on experience commissioning or troubleshooting PV/electrical systems · Driver’s license and willingness to travel ~50% · NABCEP Certification (preferred) Location: This position is based out of Warwick, NY headquarters, with the flexibility to work a hybrid remote-home-office 50% and travel 50%. Project travel will be mostly in the northeast region. Monthly, in-person team meetings will take place in Warwick, NY. The company covers the cost of company travel. Candidates must be based out of NY, NJ, or CT, but preferrable in the NYC metropolitan area.
