Senior Remote Electrical Engineer (Power Systems)

Our client, a global leader in renewable energy solutions, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Remote Electrical Engineer with expertise in Power Systems to join their fully remote team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge projects from the comfort of your own home office, with a primary focus on designing, analyzing, and optimizing electrical systems for large-scale energy infrastructure. The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the electrical design of substations, transmission lines, and renewable energy integration projects (solar, wind). You will develop detailed electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and wiring layouts using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD Electrical and ETAP. Key responsibilities include performing load flow analysis, short circuit studies, harmonic analysis, and protection coordination studies to ensure system stability, reliability, and safety. You will also be involved in equipment specification, vendor evaluation, and technical support during the construction and commissioning phases. The ideal candidate possesses a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution, with a minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in power systems engineering. Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly preferred. Proven expertise in power system analysis software (e.g., ETAP, PSS/E, PSCAD) and a strong understanding of relevant industry standards (e.g., IEEE, NERC) are essential. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are required, with the ability to work independently and effectively collaborate with a geographically dispersed team via virtual communication tools. Experience with renewable energy integration and grid interconnection studies is a significant plus. This role demands a proactive approach to identifying and resolving complex technical challenges. You will contribute to project proposals, provide technical leadership, and mentor junior engineers. Strong documentation skills are crucial for creating comprehensive technical reports and project documentation.
