Job Summary

We're seeking an experienced Data Entry Clerk to join our team in Houston, TX. As a Data Entry Clerk, you'll play a critical role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our company's databases. You'll work closely with employees and customers to collect information, identify and correct errors, and ensure that our databases are up-to-date and reflect the latest developments, updates, and transactions.

Responsibilities

As a Data Entry Clerk, you'll be responsible for:

  • Maintaining database accuracy by entering new and updated customer and account information in a timely and accurate manner
  • Preparing source data for computer entry by compiling and sorting information
  • Establishing entry priorities to ensure efficient data processing
  • Processing customer and account source documents by reviewing data for deficiencies and resolving issues using standard procedures
  • Entering customer and account data by inputting alphabetic and numeric information on keyboard or optical scanner according to screen format
  • Maintaining data entry requirements by following data program techniques and procedures
  • Verifying entered customer and account data by reviewing, correcting, deleting, or reentering data
  • Combining data from both systems when account information is incomplete
  • Purging files to eliminate duplication of data
  • Testing customer and account system changes and upgrades by inputting new data
  • Securing information by completing database backups

Essential Qualifications

* High school diploma or equivalent

  • Data entry experience or related office experience
  • Basic computer courses may be preferred by some employers
