Job Summary
As a Chat Moderator, you'll be responsible for maintaining the integrity of our online community by enforcing our community guidelines, resolving conflicts, and providing exceptional customer service. This is a part-time, remote position that requires a flexible and self-motivated individual who can work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
* Moderate the chat of our official Discord server, ensuring that all users adhere to our community guidelines and rules
- Delete messages that violate our community guidelines, including but not limited to:
+ Hate speech or harassment + Spam or self-promotion + Inflammatory or divisive content
- Ban users who have multiple and repeat violations of our community guidelines
- Mute users who have violated our community guidelines
- Investigate reports made by users about violations of our community guidelines
- Collaborate with our team to develop and implement community guidelines and policies
- Provide exceptional customer service to users, responding to their questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in community management and conflict resolution
Essential Qualifications
* 18 years of age or older
- High School Diploma or GED
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Familiarity with Discord and community management software
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in community management or conflict resolution
- Knowledge of social justice and inclusivity principles
- Familiarity with online community guidelines and policies
- Experience with customer service or support roles
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
