Electronics Category Lead - Strategic Purchasing

Strategic Category Management, is seeking a candidate who is passionate about strategic supplier relationship management as a Category Lead. This position will support the development and execution of sourcing strategies within the electronics technology segment of BAE Systems supply base. The Category Lead will be asked to manage direct supplier engagements with Original Component Manufactures (OCM’s). This will be done by prioritizing sector level supplier relationship management, developing strategic priorities for the supply base, as well as managing assigned supplier’s performance. Additionally the Category Lead will be asked to report insights on the general electronics market, trends within the supply base, as well as provide recommendations to internal stakeholders on how to navigate these tendencies ensuring maximum value creation within the supply base. This position interfaces with many internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to supply chain management, supplier quality, manufacturing, engineering, program management, distribution suppliers, and original component manufacturers. A successful candidate must be an effective communicator, be able to build mutually beneficial relationships, be willing to advance their knowledge of procurement business acumen, and proactively adopt best practices to support new initiatives. PLEASE NOTE: Candidate can work on site or work full time remotely within the vicinity of major Electronic Systems Locations. Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree and 6 years work experience or equivalent experience
  • Experience in a large, complex, multifaceted electronics manufacturing environment
  • Experience in working with the broader Electronics Supply Base or sub-categories (IE: Radio Frequency (RF) Devices, Semiconductors, Passives, Magnetics, Power Supplies, etc).
  • Desire for continuous improvement.
  • Proven Track record of creative problem solving.
  • Contract negotiation
  • Strong business acumen with excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills. Ability to successfully interface with various leadership teams.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline and 5 years or more of directly related work experience preferably in a government-contracting environment.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Familiarity with defense aerospace industry & regulations and the understanding of the role of procurement in complex industries.
  • General awareness of FAR and DFAR regulations and the nature of flow down requirements.
  • Knowledge of ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulation) and EAR (Export Administration Regulation)
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems, (IE: Oracle, SAP, etc.)
  • Technical Background, comfort with translating technical requirements into action within the supply base.
  • 5 plus years’ experience in operations, supply chain, procurement, supplier quality.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering

Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $101398 - $172377 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
