The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of genomic technologies, next-generation sequencing (NGS) platforms, and advanced bioinformatics methodologies. You should have a proven track record of designing and executing complex biological experiments, analyzing large-scale omics datasets, and developing computational tools to address challenging biological questions. Your leadership will guide a team of scientists and bioinformaticians, fostering a culture of scientific rigor, creativity, and collaboration. We seek a visionary leader with exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Responsibilities: Lead and design cutting-edge research projects in genomics, transcriptomics, epigenomics, and other omics fields. Develop and implement advanced bioinformatics pipelines for the analysis of high-throughput sequencing data. Interpret complex genomic datasets to identify potential drug targets, biomarkers, and disease mechanisms. Collaborate with molecular biologists, computational biologists, and clinicians to integrate multi-omics data. Develop and validate novel computational methods and algorithms for genomic data analysis. Manage and mentor a team of research scientists and bioinformaticians, fostering scientific growth. Prepare and present research findings at scientific conferences and in peer-reviewed publications. Contribute to the development of intellectual property and grant proposals. Stay abreast of the latest advancements in genomics, bioinformatics, and relevant therapeutic areas. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and ethical guidelines for research. Qualifications: PhD in Genomics, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Molecular Biology, or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of post-doctoral research experience in genomics and bioinformatics, with a significant portion in a leadership or Principal Investigator role. Extensive experience with NGS data analysis platforms and tools (e.g., GATK, STAR, Bowtie, samtools). Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in bioinformatics (e.g., Python, R, Perl, Bash). Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) for large-scale data analysis. Deep understanding of statistical methods and machine learning applications in biological data analysis. Proven ability to manage research projects, mentor staff, and publish high-impact research. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex scientific concepts. A strong publication record in reputable scientific journals is essential.
