Genetic Counselor - Remote

Labcorp is seeking a US Remote based Genetic Counselor to join our team! This position will provide both comprehensive prenatal genetic counseling and will also support our Results Reporting group. Work Schedule : Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm eastern time zone Responsibilities:

  • Provide virtual comprehensive prenatal genetic counseling to a diverse patient population following established genetic counseling practice guidelines and procedures
  • Provide focused genetic counseling regarding carrier screening and cell-free DNA results. Will support multiple clients nationally
  • Ensures proper completion of counseling paperwork and documentation
  • Responsible for the communication of relevant results and coordinating appropriate follow-up, per client-specific requirements
  • Communicate and consult regularly with the clinical geneticist(s) and managers, as appropriate to situation
  • Participate regularly in staff meetings with counselors in the region
  • Serve as a genetic information resource for specific referring physician inquiries
  • Maintain appropriate client interaction and confidentiality
  • Be able to engage in professional growth opportunities including writing abstracts and publications, physician education and other projects
  • Have access to the expertise of a nation-wide organization of medical geneticists, biochemical and molecular geneticists, and over 100 counseling colleagues

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Human Genetics or Genetic Counseling
  • American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) certification or Active Candidate Status for ABGC

Additional Job Standards:

  • Ability to obtain multi-state licensure including NJ and PA
  • Highly organized, including excellent time management skills
  • Strong multi-tasking ability with excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Strong computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office

  • *Pay Range: $85,000 - $120,000 / year

All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
