Job Summary The Pharmacy Technician supports the pharmacist in preparing and dispensing medications, managing inventory, and assisting customers or patients. The role ensures accurate medication preparation, proper record keeping, and compliance with healthcare regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescription medications.
  • Receive and verify prescription orders from patients or healthcare providers.
  • Measure, count, label, and package medications accurately.
  • Maintain patient records and pharmacy databases.
  • Provide customer service by answering basic medication and pharmacy-related questions.
  • Process insurance claims and manage billing for prescriptions.
  • Monitor and manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering and stocking medicines.
  • Ensure proper storage of medications according to safety and regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy workspace.
  • Follow all healthcare regulations, safety standards, and pharmacy policies.

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma or certification in Pharmacy Technician or relevant healthcare field.
  • Basic knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and medications.
  • Familiarity with pharmacy management systems and computer skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a pharmacy, hospital, or healthcare facility.
  • Knowledge of insurance processing and pharmacy billing systems.
  • Certification from a recognized pharmacy technician board (if applicable).
