Senior Supply Chain Analyst, Logistics Optimization

Our client, a rapidly growing e-commerce fulfillment company, is seeking a highly analytical and strategic Senior Supply Chain Analyst to drive efficiency and innovation in their logistics operations in Des Moines, Iowa, US . This role is crucial for optimizing the entire supply chain, from inventory management and demand forecasting to transportation and warehousing. The ideal candidate will possess strong quantitative skills, a deep understanding of supply chain principles, and expertise in data analysis and modeling tools. You will be responsible for identifying bottlenecks, developing solutions to improve flow, reducing costs, and enhancing overall supply chain performance. This position requires close collaboration with warehouse operations, procurement, and transportation teams. Key responsibilities: Analyze complex supply chain data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement. Develop and maintain supply chain models to forecast demand, optimize inventory levels, and improve network design. Evaluate and recommend improvements to warehousing, transportation, and inventory management processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement supply chain initiatives and ensure successful execution. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) across the supply chain and report on performance against targets. Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities within the supply chain. Develop and maintain relationships with key logistics providers and suppliers. Utilize advanced analytical tools and software (e.g., SQL, Python, R, Tableau) to perform data analysis and create visualizations. Support the development and execution of strategic supply chain projects. Conduct root cause analysis for supply chain disruptions and develop mitigation strategies. Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging technologies in supply chain management. Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Business Analytics, or a related quantitative field is required. A Master's degree is a plus. Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain analysis, logistics, or operations management. Proven experience in data analysis, modeling, and optimization techniques. Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation. Strong knowledge of supply chain software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle). Experience with advanced analytics tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, R) is highly desirable. Excellent understanding of warehousing, transportation, and inventory management principles. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Experience with network optimization and simulation software is a plus.
