Debt Collection & Negotiation Specialist (Remote)

Job Overview: We are seeking a high-energy, results-driven Debt Collection Specialist to manage a portfolio of delinquent accounts. Unlike entry-level roles, this position is focused on active negotiation and settlement. You will be responsible for locating debtors, understanding their financial situations, and securing payment through professional yet firm negotiation. We are looking for a "closer" who thrives on hitting recovery targets and navigating complex conversations. Key Responsibilities:

  • Active Negotiation: Conduct high-volume outbound calls to negotiate settlements and payment plans.
  • Skip Tracing: Utilize modern tools and databases to locate and contact delinquent account holders.
  • Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to the FDCPA and all state/federal collection laws.
  • Documentation: Record all interactions and payment commitments accurately in our CRM.
  • Strategic Follow-up: Manage your own desk/queue to ensure no account falls through the cracks.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ Years Experience: Direct experience in 3rd-party collections or high-stakes financial negotiation is required.
  • Strong Communicator: Ability to remain calm under pressure while maintaining an authoritative and persuasive tone.
  • Tech-Savvy: Experience with automated dialers (e.g., RingCentral, Five9) and CRM management.
  • Results-Oriented: A proven track record of meeting or exceeding monthly recovery goals.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
