. This role is pivotal in driving the discovery and development of new chemical compounds and materials that align with the company's strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of synthetic chemistry, analytical techniques, and materials science, coupled with a proven ability to lead research projects from conception to completion. Responsibilities include designing and executing complex synthesis routes, characterizing newly synthesized compounds using advanced analytical methods, and evaluating their properties and performance. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers and product developers, to translate research findings into practical applications and ensure successful product commercialization. The Senior R&D Chemist will stay abreast of the latest scientific advancements, contribute to intellectual property development, and mentor junior chemists. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, providing flexibility while fostering essential team collaboration. Key Responsibilities: Design and execute complex organic synthesis pathways for novel compounds and materials. Characterize synthesized compounds using a range of analytical techniques, including NMR, MS, HPLC, GC, and FTIR. Evaluate the physical and chemical properties of new materials and compounds. Conduct literature reviews and patent searches to inform research direction and identify opportunities. Troubleshoot synthesis challenges and optimize reaction conditions for improved yield and purity. Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to scale up processes and integrate new materials into products. Contribute to the preparation of research reports, technical documentation, and patent applications. Stay current with the latest advancements in synthetic chemistry, analytical methods, and materials science. Mentor and guide junior chemists in laboratory techniques and research methodologies. Ensure all laboratory work is conducted safely and in compliance with relevant regulations and company policies. Present research findings to internal stakeholders and at scientific conferences. Qualifications: Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of post-doctoral or industry R&D experience in chemistry or materials development. Proven expertise in synthetic organic chemistry and reaction optimization. Proficiency with a wide array of analytical instrumentation and techniques. Strong understanding of materials science principles and characterization methods. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills. Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities. Experience in leading research projects and collaborating within multidisciplinary teams.
