Position Summary The Sales Account Manager will report directly to the Director of Sales or their designate and will be responsible for generating and maintaining sales for various product offers and services as well as networking with customers to increase needs in their region and surrounding areas. The successful candidate will be an organized, results-driven individual with excellent communication skills. This position requires frequent travel (more than 50%). KEY RESPONSIBILITIES · Promote and sell products and services to prospective customers · Establishes productive, professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customer accounts · Identify customer operational problematic areas as well as develop strategies and product recommendations to address these issues · Meet with customer accounts to discuss any current problems or areas of improvement · Develop opportunities for product recommendations through customer site visits, meetings, and understanding the processes of each customer · Attend product trials at customer sites to ensure requirements are being met · Communicate with the technical services support team regarding upcoming customer trials and issues with current products in order to support new product development and design. · Communicate with production plants to ensure all customer orders are placed, deliveries are scheduled in a timely manner, and all shipments are completed · Develop quotations for each customer including cost/sales/margin analysis · Complete all necessary internal reports · Communicate with internal departments regularly, Sales, Purchasing, Production, Product Development, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Field Services etc. · Frequent travel outside the local area · Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned, based on business needs Department: Sales Last Revised: February 2024 Location: Remote Pay Type: Salary Supervisor: Director of Sales, USA Shift: Day SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE · Degree or Diploma preferred · Minimum 5 years’ experience as a sales representative · Experience working in steel industry · Knowledge of the steelmaking or ironmaking process · Excellent selling, communication, and negotiation skills · Excellent computer literacy · Ability to travel, work off hours, and work in steel mill PHYSCIAL REQUIREMENTS · Frequent periods of standing, sitting, walking, and driving a vehicle. · Requires the ability to crawl, climb, bend/stoop, kneel/squat, maintain balance, and reach often · Ability to lift, push, and/or carry up to 50 lbs. · Workplace is often loud and exposes incumbent to moving mechanical parts, toxic/caustic chemicals, high/precarious places, fumes/airborne particles, humid conditions, and electrical shock.
